Austin, TX

a 4 day women’s retreat to find purpose & Wholeness in the midst of transition

Are you in the midst of a big life transition?

navigating transitions skillfully isn’t something our modern culture prepares us for.

Whether it’s motherhood, partnership, midlife, faith, career…. you may have found life as you know it crumbling and
feel stuck, afraid and unable to harness the wisdom of
your transition so you can move forward.

You’re tired of:

+ sabotaging relationships
+ Lacking clarity
+ feeling like a victim
+ compromising on boundaries
+ putting your wellbeing on hold
+ struggling financially

You are ready to be supported and witnessed in the rebirth of who you are.

You are ready to find purpose and wholeness.

“Coming together at the retreat unlocked something in me. A permission, a belonging, a possibility. I have found a peace and confidence. I have tools to get myself back to a safe place now, and therefore I’m less scared of what might happen in the future. I went to the pain deepest inside myself and was held, literally and figuratively. I know how to go to those places and hold myself now too.” Amy

“Surrender to every moment of the retreat and let go as you would in labor - so that re-birth, the birthing of newness from within your Self, may occur. There were deep wells of joy, ecstasy, and pride when I came face to face with the One I birthed by the end of the retreat. It was worth every moment of showing up.” — Jordan

Hi, I’m Mellisa Reeves.

I have been a Transitions Coach and Birthworker for over 7 years, incorporating somatic practice, meditation, music and psycho-spiritual tools to create a holistic approach to transformation. I have always been a “doula” of many realms… even in my previous career as a real estate brokerage owner, I was most drawn to the deeply personal and emotional transitions people experienced as they took the huge step of buying or selling a beloved home. You can learn more about me and my qualifications here.

Along the way, I’ve experienced almost every kind of transition myself… from a faith “deconstruction” in my early twenties to the huge identity transition of motherhood, the stillbirth of my second son, cross-country moves, the ending of an almost 20 year marriage, and myriad vocational and financial shifts. All of these have rocked me to my core, and all of them have helped me heal and grow into more purpose and wholeness.

In the birth world, when a woman tells us that she absolutely can NOT do this anymore, we know that she is in or near “transition”, the physiological stage of labor where the opening of the body is complete and the baby is soon to be born. Knowing glances are exchanged around the room…
she is almost there.

I have surrendered to that moment in each of my physical births, and in countless more thresholds of the heart or mind.

On the other side, I am reborn.

It is when we don’t allow ourselves to fully surrender to this transition, to the death that needs to occur for rebirth to be possible, that we get stuck.

a deeper look at our time together

Using a unique framework of the hero/heroines’ journey, feminine archetypes and embodiment practice, we will explore the art of surrender so that your transition can be completed — physically, emotionally and psychologically.

Part one: Separation

The first stage of the Hero’s Journey requires separation - the loss, death or sudden shift of what we knew and who we were. This may have already occurred circumstantially for you. But have you actually allowed the internal separation; the death of your former self? What are you holding onto; what are you afraid of? Together, we’ll create a safe space where you can re-orient to this necessary part of your threshold.

Part Two: Initiation

This is the messy middle - this is where we face our shadows, and where the letting go happens. This is also the part where it is easy to get stuck. We mostly get stuck when — you guessed it — we don’t surrender to the initiation that wants to happen. During our retreat, you will learn essential tools for understanding, working with and moving through your messy middle.

Part Three: emergence

This is the part we all think we’re ready for… but the reality is that we so often try to return to a version of our old self. Through our work with Archetypes, you will encounter a new part of yourself - the Woman Whole Unto Herself. With a new understanding of how the Heroine’s return from her journey requires her to step into a new role, you can chart a path for re-engaging your life with new purpose and wholeness.

This is one of the best held containers for healing and for our HUMAN that I have ever experienced. A truly integrative focused space where you feel safe to dive deep, but also be wild and have fun! All of the things we may suppress you feel comfortable SEEING again. It will open you up and allow for beautiful community relationships. The fellow women you meet and connect with will forever change your life!” — Nikki Armstrong
